What a game, based on the Paul Verhoeven film [of the same name] from the previous year.
It had everything, the sounds the guns & the action. Even walking past the arcade machine it would pull you in with quotes from the movie..
Ocean software we’re responsible for most of the home versions & handled it pretty well, with good reviews across the board. From what i remember it was mostly converted by one guy!
It was also the biggest selling game ever on the ZX Spectrum! The general opinion was that it was even better than the arcade machine!?
One of the first platformers to feature minigames as well, I think. Or at least, decent ones that really were miniature games in themselves rather than just a dice roll or whatever. The shooting gallery, the photofit, etc…
