Soon after Doom was released people started making mods to produce themselves a Starwars game. Lucasarts answered by giving people just what wanted.
While many were jumping on the [first person shooter] band wagon, this was no simple Doom clone. You could jump, duck, look up & down. Very normal today, but it started here with this game. It was more than just a find a key affair as well, having missions & objectives. All linked together by cut scenes with a touch of flair typical for Lucasarts.
The game was literally drenched with the Starwars universe, from the weapons, the aliens, the sets to the beautiful iMuse rendition of John Williams’ classic theme.
Maybe its only failing [which wasn’t rectified until Battlefront] was the lack of a multiplayer mode..
